RU POV: Russian and Ukrainian advances from Day 1513 to 1522 of the War - Suriyakmaps

Apr 16, 2026 — Apr 25, 2026 War Day 1513–1522

This post was meant to cover 10 days but the latter half ended up having too many pictures to fit, so they’ll go in a separate one.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pictures 1 to 9 are from Day 1518 to 1522 (Tuesday 21 to Saturday 25 April), and pictures 8 to 20 are from Day 1513 to 1517 (Thursday 16 to Monday 20 April).

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A reminder that these maps are confirming updates from previous days (i.e. typically 12 to 72 hours delayed from each day).

Live map can be found here, Suriyak’s twitter can be found here.

Russian Forces Advance: 0.33 km²

Advance = 0.33km2

As always we start up in Sumy, where there have been smaller clashes in and around Kindrativka, Khrapivshchyna, Nova Sich, and Andriivka over the past week. Only the first of those actually resulted in any advance, with Russia making some minor in the houses on the east side of the village.

Russian Forces Advance: 11.26 km²

Advance = 11.28km2

Over to the northern front, where Russia continues it attacks across the northern side of the Vovcha River. Their assault groups were able to make further progress, clearing out more treelines and parts of the forest areas, as well as capturing the small village of Bochkove. Ukraine’s presence on the north side of the Vovcha River is continuing to shrink, now only in control of some treelines next to this advance and two villages and some forest areas to the east.

Russian Forces Advance: 1.39 km²

Advance = 1.41km2

Onto the Kupyansk front, Russian forces are maintaining the pressure on Kurlivka and Kupyansk-Vuzlovyi, capturing more of the former and sending additional DRGs into the latter. This is likely the most porous section of the entire frontline, with different groups of Russians and Ukrainians all over the area, often next to or close to each other.

Ukrainian Forces Advance: 2.97 km²

Advance = 2.97km2

Down to the Lyman front, Ukraine has been launching counterattacks in several areas over the past few weeks, moving back into the eastern streets of Drobysheve and even further towards Derylove, whilst other DRGs try to sneak into the fields northeast of the town and reoccupy some of the fortifications in that area.

Russian Forces Advance: 11.88 km²

Upper Left Advance = 0.75km2, Lower Left Advance = 11.16km2

Heading to the Siversk front, Russia secured more of the treelines and hills north and south of Kalenyky, with their troops now right on the edge of Rai-Oleksandrivka (below the S). Kryva Luka (beneath the r) is still a bit of a mystery as Russia has been close to it and allegedly entered it some time ago, but we’ve seen no footage from either side of troops on the ground there (just shelling).

No Advance

A bit further south on the same front, Russia continues to send DRGs into the fields west of Pryvillya and Minkivka, trying to secure some of the fortifications next to the canal and force the frontline along it.
Russian Forces Advance: 7.66 km²

Advance = 7.66km2

Moving to the Kostyantynivka front, west of the city Russia renewed their assaults in and around Illinivka, recapturing the southern streets of the village and many of the adjacent treelines, as well as some groups moving into eastern Dovha Balka (under the S). From here some of the assault groups are reportedly moving into western Kostyantynivka, although its unknown if they have been able to establish a foothold.
Russian Forces Advance: 8.34 km²

Upper Right Advance = 5.00km2, Middle Advance = 0.55km2, Middle Right Advance = 0.33km2, Bottom Advance = 2.46km2

Over on the Pokrovsk front, Russian forces have made further attempts to enter Bilytske, reaching the eastern and southern streets. There has been some contention over whether they established a foothold and are still in the town, so I would not call this a confirmed advance yet.

To the south, new footage has shown that a handful of Ukrainian troops still occupy the Zaporozhskaya mine, occasionally entering western Rodynske where they are shelled by the Russians.
Context
To the west, Russian assault groups have started moving into southern Novooleksandrivka and have taken over the southern buildings, currently working on seizing the rest of the village.

Further south Russia has also reestablished control over some of the treelines along the E50 highway.

No Advance

Heading to the Hulyaipole front, Russia has made further infiltrations into the area south of the Zherebets River, bypassing Huliaipilske and reaching the southeastern edge of Novoselivka.
