RU POV: Russian and Ukrainian advances from Day 1523 to 1527 of the War - Suriyakmaps

Apr 26, 2026 — Apr 30, 2026 War Day 1523–1527

Another post that was meant to cover more days but couldn’t due to there being too many images. Hopefully the next one doesn’t have the same issue.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pictures 1 to 3 are from Day 1523 to 1527 (Sunday 26 to Thursday 30 April).

A reminder that these maps are confirming updates from previous days (i.e. typically 12 to 72 hours delayed from each day).

Live map can be found here, Suriyak’s twitter can be found here.

Russian Forces Advance: 6.93 km²

Advance = 6.93km2

Shocking no one we begin on the Sumy front, where Russia has continued putting pressure on the settlement belt along the Oleshnya River, with assault groups pushing down from Mala Korchakivka into the forest adjacent and into the village of Korchakivka. Now whilst Suriyak has shown this as Russian controlled I am not this is correct at the moment, as whilst some assault groups are present here we have not seen proof of them controlling the locality.
Context
Russian Forces Advance: 23.14 km²

Top Left Advance = 2.41km2, Upper Middle Advance = 11.41km2, Bottom Advance = 9.34km2

Context
Onto the Sumy border area, on the north side Russia has continued closing in on Myropillya, capturing some nearby treelines and part of the small town. Whilst Russia claims to have captured it already that is simply not true, with Ukraine still having some forces in the town (admittedly not in a good position).
Context
To the south, the Russian push into Novodmytrivka and Taratutyne mentioned a few weeks ago was successful with their assault groups taking over both small villages and part of the forest area around it. This control is quite fragile however, so they will need to consolidate and secure a buffer around the settlements or risk Ukraine simply pushing their way back in.
Russian Forces Advance: 9.69 km²

Top Advance = 3.43km2, Middle Left Advance = 4.11km2, Middle Advance = 2.15km2

Context
Heading to the northern front, on the northeast side Russia continues its attacks along the Vovcha River, crossing over the international border and seizing the minor village of Zemlyanky, as well as part of the neighbouring village of Budarky (other side of the river). This does give them a toehold on the south side of the Vovcha but they will need to expand it a lot more for it to be useful for any push west.
Context
To the southwest Russian forces cleared up the last segment of treelines north of the Vovcha River between Bochkove and Zybyne, whilst other troops finished the assault on Pokalyane resulting in its capture. From here they will likely try move on Karaichne and Volokhivka, although that will require them to cross the Vovcha in one of the thinner/shallower areas.
Russian Forces Advance: 1.09 km²

Top Left Advance = 0.37km2, Upper Left Advance = 0.24km2, Left Advance = 0.51km2

Moving to the Kupyansk front, on the west side of the town Russia has reinforced its minor garrison that were holding onto fragments of its foothold near the Oskil River, recapturing some of the highrises around the hospital as they try expand back out into the greyzone. If Russia can take advantage of the chaos and lack of clear control to retake western Kupyansk it will benefit them significantly, but that will be incredibly difficult due to the highly limited and exposed reinforcement route their troops have to take to get into the town.

To the southeast Russia captured a bit more of Kurylivka, whilst their forward infantry groups continue to fan out into Kupyansk-Vuzlovyi and Kivsharivka.
Russian Forces Advance: 2.04 km²

Advance = 2.04km2

Down to the Lyman front, Ukrainian troops launched counterattacks from Syaryi Karavan and Brusivka back towards Dibrova, where clashes are taking place. This section of the forest has minimal fortifications so it is hard for either side to gain and maintain control over the greyzone between the settlements.

To the east Russia managed to regain some of Ozerne following the Ukrainian counterattacks a few weeks ago and has mostly cleared out the Ukrainian DRGs in Yampil and Zakitne.
Russian Forces Advance: 4.73 km²

Advance = 4.73km2

Over on the Siversk front Russian assault groups have continued trying to secure the area up to the canal, taking over some of the treelines along the E40 highway but so far failing to capture the fortifications directly next to the canal.
Russian Forces Advance: 4.19 km²

Left Advance = 1.31km2, Left Middle Advance = 1.20km2, Right Middle Advance = 1.00km2, Lower Right Advance = 0.70km2

Further south on the Kostyantynivka front, in the centre Russian forces reportedly taken over Illinivka and are already sending DRGs over to Dovha Balka and the western edge of the city. Other groups a little southeast have managed to resecure the outskirts of Berestok and are also trying to move into southern Kostyantynivka.

Out west, Russia also moved back into the clay quarry west of Dovha Balka
Russian Forces Advance: 2.00 km²

Advance = 2.00km2

Out west on the same front Russia has also made a minor advance near Novopavlivka, as they look to be attempting to get the ball rolling on a push through the fields.
Russian Forces Advance: 1.86 km²

Left Advance = 4.33km2, Middle Left Advance = 0.33km2, Left Advance = 1.23km2

Heading to the Pokrovsk front, Russian forces expanding the buffer around Hryshyne and are working on clearing the last houses in Novooleksandrivka.
Russian Forces Advance: 3.37 km²

Advance = 3.37km2

Onto the Novopavlivka front, Russia has reportedly been able to retake the outer edge of the town over the past couple of weeks following a regrouping. I haven’t personally seen any evidence of this but there are several reports of renewed fighting within the town so at least something is occurring here.

No Advance

Moving to the Pokrovske front, after last week’s loss of Oleksandrohad Ukraine has sent additional groups into the gap between it and Sichneve, looking to infiltrate the villages in the area. Part of this looks to be a correction on Suriyak’s part with Russia not controlling quite as much of the adjacent fields as first reported.
Russian Forces Advance: 2.18 km²

Advance = 2.18km2

Moving southwest on the same front, the back and forth over the larger area of fields that began two months ago is still ongoing, with Ukraine making renewed attempts at getting into Novomykolaivka and Uspenivka whilst Russia tried to push into the area between the Haichur and Yanchur rivers.
Context

No Advance

Out to the Zaporizhia front, Ukraine stepped up its counterattacks in Prymorske over the past week, with DRGs pushing into the southern streets.
