RU POV: Russian and Ukrainian advances from Day 894 to 896 of the War (Part 2) - Suriyakmaps

In an unexpected move that got overshadowed by other events, Russian forces broke through Ukrainian lines in Niu-York, establishing control over the school and western suburbs. This cuts off the Ukrainian grouping in the southwest side of the town from the rest of their forces, and means any rotation/reinforcement has to go the long way around to the west. Ukraine is currently counterattacking in this area, trying to reestablish control.

Geolocated footage has confirmed Russian forces recaptured the filtering station north of Bilohorivka. This is the third time this area has changed hands this year.

Russian forces made a small advance along the railway north of Rozdolivka, as they probe Ukrainian defences for an inevitable attack on Pereizne (blue dot under S).

Russian advances around Prohres continue, regardless of the events occurring in Kursk. In the north, Russian forces advance further west from Tymofiivka, heading towards Svyrydonivka. In the same area, Russian forces captured the fields on the eastern side of Ivanivske, as the Russian chokehold on the village tightens. Some Russian sources already claim Russia controls the whole settlement, however I can’t confirm this yet.

To the south, Ukrainian forces around Zhelanne are in full retreat. Russian assault groups advanced west of Vesele, capturing more fields and the remainder of Serhiivka. Early reports indicate Russian forces may also have reached the southeastern outskirts of Hrodivka. In Zhelanne, the 47th Mech Brigade was unable to withstand Russian attacks, and has quickly collapsed inside the town. Russian assault groups do not control the whole settlement yet, but the remaining Ukrainian forces are isolated in a small pocket, and are unlikely to escape.

Near the O0532 road, Russian forces advanced in two separate area, capturing a large series of fields. Russian command here is content with blocking the road on the north side, and are trying to move the whole front line in this area up to the road itself by slowly clearing out Ukrainian positions. Once they have greater control of the fields south of the road, then they will likely cross it and move into the fields on the other side.

Following on from pic 4, Russian forces captured Lysychne and a nearby trench network during the day. Russian assault groups here will likely continue heading west, possibly supporting the other group heading for Svyrydonivka.

Ukrainian forces counterattacked in Niu-York, recapturing the school and some of the surrounding buildings. Russian forces still maintain a presence in the commercial area along the central road however, so Ukraine has not completely undone the advance in picture 1 yet.
