RU POV: Russian and Ukrainian advances from Day 914 of the War - Suriyakmaps

Aug 26, 2024 — Aug 26, 2024 War Day 914–914

es I know there have been a lot of major developments that haven’t been covered here yet, but to directly quote Suriyak: “I'm not being conservative with the maps, I just have a lot of work accumulated and it's hard to keep up with it. But I promise you that you will have them completely updated soon”.

Man is fighting for his life trying to keep up with all the changes and making sure the posts stay accurate, so be patient.

My analysis is based on notes, information, videos/photos, satellite imagery, etc. done at the time of the advance, not when I post. So even though I currently know the outcome of some of these events, its always going to be written as at the day the advance occurred.

Pictures 1 to 5 are from Day 914 (Monday 26 August).

A reminder that these maps are confirming updates from previous days (i.e. 12 to 48 hours delayed from each day).

On the Kursk front, Ukrainian troops have made some progress in a number of areas. To the northwest, Ukraine captured the remainder of Krasnooktyabrskoe, which cuts Russia’s forest route connection Korenevo to the Seym River. Just to the south of here, Ukraine captured the fields outside of Byakhovo and Vnezapnoe, as it starts advancing towards the next line of villages along the Sinyak River.

On the eastern side, having failed to establish a foothold in Nechaev a few days ago, Ukrainian troops made a small bit of progress heading north, possibly in an attempt to skirt Russian positions and assault Zelenyi, the next town over from Nechaev.

On the southern side, Ukrainian troops re-entered Borki, and captured a small section of the village along the south side. Clashes are currently taking place there as Russia attempts to dislodge Ukraine from this area once again.
Russian Forces Advance: 0.99 km²

Advance = 0.99km2

South of Pishchane, Russian troops made some more progress towards the Oskil river, capturing a few treelines.
Russian Forces Advance: 22.05 km²

Top Advance = 2.53km2, Upper Middle Advance = 0.72km2, Middle Advance = 1.67km2, Bottom Advance = 17.13km2

Now onto the Pokrovsk front, where the major developments everyone has been talking about are happening. On the north side, Russian forces have captured the fields and treelines just outside of Hrodivka, opening another angle for them to assault the town from. Ukraine has allegedly begun to withdraw its troops from the buildings in the centre of the town, as the risk of being overwhelmed from attacks on 3 sides has grown too great. If they do withdraw, they will likely try hold on the opposite side of the Zhuravka River, which runs through Hrodivka.

To the west of here, Russian assault groups have entered Krasnyi Yar, and captured most of the village following their clashes with Ukrainian troops. Ukraine will almost certainly be forced out of the western half of the village within the next day, as their troops fall back to the north to try hold Mykolaivka.

In Novohrodivka Russian assault groups have made further progress, capturing a large chunk of the northern side of the town and the field on the other side of the railway. Ukraine is reportedly withdrawing its remaining forces from the town, as it had become clear they simply cannot hold against Russian troops, and staying would be a pointless endeavour. Russia will likely capture the remainder of Novohrodivka, and possibly Marynivka, within the next day.

To the south, Russian forces have continued making large gains, as the situation deteriorates for Ukraine. As I mentioned yesterday, Russian assault groups were likely already attacking into Mykhailivka south of the slag heap, which has now been confirmed. They have already captured a little under half of the town, with early reports suggesting most of the remainder of the town may also be under Russian control as Ukraine retreats. In the fields area Russian troops drove Ukraine out of Kalynove, capturing the village, which I mentioned yesterday would happen. On top of this, Russian forces have already reached the village of Memryk further south, reportedly capturing a almost half of it. Russian sources claim that they already control the whole settlement as assaults allegedly only lasted a few hours, however we cannot confirm full control of it just yet. Either way, Russia will likely capture the settlement within the next day, opening the way for an assault on the town of Ukrainsk.
Russian Forces Advance: 0.15 km²

Advance = 0.15km2

Northwest of Marinka, geolocated footage confirmed Russian troops made a small bit of progress in the fields, capturing a trench network.
Russian Forces Advance: 5.31 km²

Advance = 5.31km2

In Robotyne, over the past few days Russian forces have captured the fields south of one of the trenchlines, straightening the frontline. With this advance, Russian troops can now focus on pushing the frontline north, and push Ukraine out of the remainder of the ‘salient’, although this will still take quite some time due to the numerous mines, trenches and dugouts scattered through the area.
